WHAT TO SEE OR DO ?

Here are some of our suggestions in addition to what is mentioned on the left.

Off course, visiting the old city is the first thing to do both during the day and at night as many of the buildings are lited up at night. It is amazing how much time one can spend just hanging around in its small streets, stopping for an iced coffee in one of its cafes or admiring the interesting points of view that the old city keeps offering to the eye.

The architecture of its buildings and the fascinating location of the old city on the top of a cape overlooking the St-Lawrence river explain it all. The section of the city below the cape is also beautiful with its closeness to the water and the little streets all tucked in between the water and the cliff.

To visit:

The Old Port Farmers' Market, locally-grown vegetables and fruits, homemade produce, handcrafted items, pastries and cheeses, nice view on the Marina, lots of fun !

Place Royale, birthplace of the city

Plains of Abraham, 1759, the battlefield and battle who sealed the destiny of Quebec

The Citadel and wall fortifications

Montmorency falls
, panoramic views on the city, Island of Orleans and St-Lawrence river, suspended bridge

Orleans Island, the country side just 10 minutes away from the city

Cap Tourmente, National Wildlife Area, walking paths, bird watching
